When Indians are under attack for their poor fielding, Mahendra Singh Dhoni [Images] provided a ray of hope by engineering six dismissals behind the stumps to equal the world record for maximum dismissals by a wicketkeeper in a one-day international.

This was the eight instance of any wicketkeeper lending a hand in six dismissals and the first by an Indian.

Nayan Mongia with five dismissals held the Indian record previously.

"It wasn't so much the visibility but the wind that was the problem. The ball was swaying away from the fielders," Dhoni said.

Dhoni got into the act when England [Images] was going great guns at 97 for 1. He began by effecting a lightening quick stumping of opener Matt Prior [Images] after the England batsman lost his balance and lifted his back foot for a few fleeting seconds off Sourav Ganguly [Images], before accepting Kevin Pietersen's [Images] outside edge off Zaheer Khan [Images].

And he then took a sharp catch to dismiss Ian Bell [Images] as England lost three wickets in seven runs and lost its way.

Dhoni, in fact, had a hand in each of the first five wickets that England lost before picking his sixth victim when he held a skier from Jonathan Lewis off Ajit Agarkar [Images].

"Dhoni was catching well, and at one stage we were hoping that all the balls go to him," said captain Rahul Dravid [Images] jokingly after his team put down three straight forward chances.
