Pakistan paceman Sohail Tanvir on Sunday said his team would fight till the end in the first Test against India as a match was not won till the last run is scored.

Pakistan is staring at defeat with India needing only 32 runs to win the Test with seven wickets and one full day in hand at the Ferozeshah Kotla in New Delhi.

"We will fight till the end because till the last run is scored nothing can be said (in a cricket match)," he said after the fourth day's play.

Tanvir blamed his teammates for wrong shot selection which resulted in fall of five wickets in the space of 35 runs and 17.1 overs this morning.

"There were some wrong shots, otherwise there was not much in the pitch," he said.

"My wicket and that of Kamran bhai were the turning point," he added.

Tanvir, however, did not blame Misbah-ul-Haq, who scored 82 and 45, for his dismissal immediately after Anil Kumble gave the new ball to Sourav Ganguly [Images] in the middle of an over.

"He has played well in both the innings and his wicket was lost pretty late in the innings, so it was fine," he said.

On his own performance, the debutant from Rawalpindi, who took two wickets in first innings but has not struck so far in the second, said he concentrated on containing the batsmen.

"There was not much help from the pitch so if you cannot take wickets you have to contain the batsmen and that's what I did," he said.

Asked if he was satisfied with his performance in his debut Test, Tanvir said "if you're satisfied with your performance, your improvement stops. Your hunger should keep growing."

On the pressure he faced while bowling to batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar [Images], he said "I am never under pressure when on the field, even if it is Sachin (Tendulkar). Once the ball is in your hand you have to perform."
