Pleading against politicisation of NCP chief Sharad Pawar's absence in Orissa rally, CPI general secretary A B Bardhan on Friday claimed that the Union minister would soon address a rally in the state with CM Naveen Patnaik.

Pawar could not reach Orissa today due to a technical snag in his aircraft.

Ridiculing the UPA, the CPI leader said technical snag was common in air service. "But you (Congress) not worry about it. Sharad Pawar has promised to address a rally here either on April 7 or 8 according to convenience of BJD chief Naveen Patnaik", he said.

Bardhan further said that Pawar was very much in favour of formation of a non-Congress and non-BJP government at the Centre.

"We do not claim that Pawar is with the Third front. But he is keeping distance from Congress-led UPA. This is evident from the fact that his party does not have electoral tie-up with Congress anywhere except Maharastra and Goa", Bardhan said at the Left-NCP-BJD joint rally here.

Pawar's telephonic message was aired at the meet through mike.

"Pawar could not come due to technical snag in aircraft," NCP general secretary D P Tripathy told the rally.

Attacking both UPA and NDA, Bardhan claimed that both the fronts were afraid of emergence of Third front while their friends were deserting them.

Both Lalu Prasad and Ramvilas Paswan are determined to "teach" Congress a lesson while Mulayam was also not in support of UPA, Bardhan pointed out adding "today's rally is giving Congress sleepless nights".
