It's that time of the year again, when elections are the flavour of the day.
With results of elections to three state assemblies -- Punjab, Uttarakhand and Manipur -- out on February 27, political fever, which has been oscillating between below-normal and slightly above normal, can be expected to rise a little.
Not to worrisome levels, no. For that one may have to wait till May, when the results of the Uttar Pradesh elections will be out, but nevertheless this round of elections could serve as a weather vane to the direction in which the political wind is blowing.
Will the Shiromani Akali Dal reclaim Punjab ousting the Congress's Captain Amrinder Singh?
Will the Congress bite the dust in Uttarakhand?
And what will happen in distant Manipur? Will the Congress's Ibobi Singh, who is the first CM to complete a five-year term there, make history by also reclaiming the state?
Whatever be the outcome, politics -- like cricket and Bollywood -- is a subject that exercises Indians. Everyone has a take on politics, who should rule and who should go.
