Jet Airways said on Thursday it will increase fuel surcharge by Rs 150 on both Club Premiere and Economy Class tickets on domestic routes, with effect from May 4.

"The (increase in) surcharge has been necessitated in view of the continuing escalation in aviation turbine fuel prices. ATF prices have gone up by 3.5 per cent from May 1," Jet Airways India informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

However, the Jet Privilege redemption tickets for domestic travel are exempt from this fuel surcharge. The revision has increased the fuel surcharge to Rs 900 from Rs 750.

The revised surcharge would be collected per flight coupon within India and $20 for tickets issued outside India on all domestic routes, the company said.

Jet Airways said that the revision would be applicable on all domestic segments, even if it is part of an international journey. The surcharge will not be applicable on sale of tickets made on or before May 3 as per the ticketed itinerary.

However, the surcharge will be applicable if tickets are presented for any voluntary change on or after May 4.
