Logistics solutions provider Gati Ltd [Get Quote] said on Friday it was looking to double its turnover from India to Rs 1,000 crore (Rs 10 billion) by 2009, on the back of expanding courier business and services like fax, printing and internet browsing offered through retail outlets.

The company launched 'Cafe d'eliver', its third retail outlet in the country here, through which it plans to generate a revenue of Rs 250 crore (Rs 2.5 billion) in the next two years.

"This (Cafe d'eliver) is the retail initiative of the company where customers would be able to avail of a host of facilities under one roof," Gati's business operations (east) Head Patram Choudhary said.

The outlet, in addition to offering courier services, provides document photocopying, printing and internet services.

The two other outlets are located in Hyderabad and Pune. Shortly, Gati would acquire a freighter to strengthen domestic operations.

The company has a sizeable market share among the organised players in the sector. Gati also has presence in China and Singapore.
