A rival group of women had already exposed for Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on a previous occasion.

Activists from a group called 'Medvedev is Our President' said they were stripping to endorse the president's initiative to discourage public drinking of beer.

Medvedev in July signed a bill that officially classifies beer as an alcoholic beverage to fight alcoholism and to control the sale of the drink.  

The activists, who encouraged passersby to pour their cans of beer into buckets, first took off their shorts and then their tops after the beer reached a certain level in the buckets. 

The slogan for the event was 'Choose beer or us'.

A rival group called 'I Really Do Like Putin' had stripped to bikinis and washed cars in July in a tribute to the popular prime minister.
