Mulayam Singh's Samajwadi Party is not too far behind Congress and BJP in terms of criminal candidates

Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party has named 24 candidates with criminal background out of the total 165 declared so far. However, NEW has been able to find the records of only 77 out of them.

Rashtriya Lok Dal, which recently announced its pre-poll alliance with the Congress and immediately its chief Ajit Singh was awarded with a Cabinet berth in the Union government, has only 1 candidate with criminal record out of the total 5 candidates whose records were accessible to NEW. RLD so far has announced 17 candidates in total.

However, it is to be noted here that NEW has got access to the records of only around 40 per cent of the total candidates declared so far by the four parties.
