The 'chalo assembly' rally of the Telangana Students Joint Action Committee turned violent at several places in Hyderabad on Monday.

The rally was organised in support of demand for statehood for Telangana.

Police arrests protesting students in Hyderabad on Monday

A group of protesting students set fire to a boggie of a local train at Jamai Osmania railway station.

However, a police party immediately rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire, he said, adding that five students were taken into custody in this connection.
