The four-metre-high sculpture dubbed "Riesen-Nixe" (grand mermaid) or "Badenixe" (bathing beauty) will be on display until August 12.
The work was created in three pieces by the artist.

Riders practice for a show on their horses at a farm in Kaposmero, Budapest. The show, being hosted for the third consecutive year has some of the world's best horse archers.
Around 180 riders from 14 countries are expected for the event, which would be held this week.
Mounted archery was a defining characteristic of Steppe warfare throughout Central Asia, and throughout the prairies of America after the adoption of the horse, used by peoples including the Scythians, Sarmatians, Parthians, Sassanids, Huns, Byzantines, Bulgars, Cumans, Kipchaks, Magyars, Japanese, Mongols, Turks, Rajputs, Comanches, and others.

In Yemen, demonstrators have staged a sit-in for six months in "Change Square", near the University of Sanaa where protests to end the 33-year rule of President Ali Abdullah Saleh began.
The protesters are clinging to the hope that they can revive low spirits in their camps with communal meals to break their daily Ramadan fast, as well as more rallies and marches during a period when large crowds head to the mosque to pray, offering natural gathering opportunities.

The original Ferris Wheel was designed and constructed by George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr, as a landmark for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.
The term Ferris wheel later came to be used generically for all such structures.
Since the original 1893 Chicago Ferris Wheel, there have been eight subsequent world's tallest-ever Ferris wheels. The current record holder is the 541 ft Singapore Flyer, which opened to the public in March 2008.

Five months after a popular uprising ousted him from nearly three decades of absolute power, deposed president Hosni Mubarak was flown into Cairo on Wednesday to face trial for murder and corruption.
He has been charged with conspiring to kill protesters and corruption. The trial opened on Wednesday amid clashes between hundreds of his supporters and opponents outside the courtroom.
The trial turned into a stormy affair, with violent clashes reported outside the police academy, where the proceedings are being held. Mubarak, 81, could face execution if found guilty.
Mubarak pleaded innocent to murder charges.
