Here’s a collection of some of the best photos from around the world shot in the last 48 hours. 

Gao Bingguo is covered with bees during an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for being covered by the largest number of bees, in Taian, Shandong province on Tuesday. Gao set a new record after having had 326,000 bees on his body at one time, according to local media.

A Thai protester points a finger at the Thai military during anti-coup protests as General Prayuth receives the Royal endorsement in Bangkok, Thailand. Thailand has seen many months of political unrest and violence, which has claimed at least 28 lives. It is now experiencing it’s 12th coup with 7 attempted pervious coups. Thailand's coup leaders have detained former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and other anti-government protest leaders for up to a week.

The truck used to ferry their fighters was wrecked on the airport road, covered in blood and completely riddled with bullets. More than 50 pro-Russian rebels were killed in an unprecedented assault by Ukrainian government forces, which raged into a second day on Tuesday after a newly-elected president vowed to crush the revolt in the east once and for all.

A girl is seen in her family’s flat damaged during a police raid on a nearby hideout of al Qaeda militants in the Arhab region north of the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Tuesday. Yemen’s security forces on Sunday killed a senior al-Qaeda leader wanted for attacks on local and foreign targets in Sanaa, the Yemeni government said, after the raid in which at least four other militants died.

Police collect evidence near the body of Farzana Iqbal, who was killed by family members near the Lahore High Court building on Tuesday. Iqbal, 25, was stoned to death by her family outside the court on Tuesday in a so-called honour killing for marrying the man she loved, police said. Iqbal was waiting when a group of around dozen men began attacking her with bricks.
