There was a time when Sonakshi Sinha and perhaps the people closest to her never imagined that she would become a star, although destiny dictated otherwise -- she catapulted to fame with her grand entry to B-Town in Dabangg, opposite Salman Khan.

What few know is the effort it took for her to light up the big screen. A few years ago, at 90 kgs Sonakshi was more than just overweight. While studying fashion designing, however, she realised that she needed to lose at least one-third of her weight, not just to look good but also to feel healthy.

Here's the routine Sonakshi started on in her bid to drop the excess baggage:

The actress revealed that she did not have to look back after she lost 30 kgs. She got enough guidance and health tips from one of the fittest heroes of the industry, Salman Khan. With her great looks and a perfect body, she is the new darling of Bollywood -- and India.

Why SRK wants to beat Gayle

Last updated on: May 21, 2011 09:59 IST

Bollywood superstar and principal owner of Kolkata Knight Riders Shah Rukh Khan is hopeful of his team making it to the play-offs in the ongoing fourth edition of the Indian Premier League.

"It is a big match. We don't play individually, we play as a team. I am not tensed, but I am worried," he declared, ahead of KKR's crucial match against Pune Warriors at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

"Earlier, at Bangalore, our match was curtailed due to rain, so I felt bad. If we get a chance to play a full game then we will hopefully win. I hope we will be in the semi-finals," he added.

In a lighter vein, Shah Rukh took on former KKR player Chris Gayle, who is now with Royal Challengers Bangalore.

"There in no one player who plays against any team, except Chris Gayle. He is a monster," he said.

The superstar said he met Gayle, after the West Indies cricketer scored a century against KKR earlier in the tournament, and "tired to hit him on his face but couldn't manage to because of his height".

Asked why former KKR captain Sourav Ganguly was missing from the guest list at the party at his residence recently, the actor replied, "The party was for all players of Kolkota Knight Riders. It was for the first time that KKR had come to Mumbai, so I thought of having a party at my house. I had not invited any other player and I am sure if I had invited, they would have come."

After going unsold at the players' auction earlier this year, former India captain Ganguly made a dramatic entry into IPL 4 when he was signed up by debutants Pune Warriors India as a replacement for injured pacer Ashish Nehra.
