India's LONGEST and modern: Yamuna Expressway

The 165km-long Yamuna Expressway, which will reduce commuting time between Greater Noida and Agra to a mere two hours, was thrown open after months of delay on August 9.The fast-track road, built at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore, was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and opened for public.
While cars would have to pay Rs 320 for a one-way trip, two-wheelers would have to shell out Rs 150.

Hotties in bikinis, one-pieces and resortwear took to the ramp, presenting the sizzling creations from the duo's latest line in their trademark colour-block preferences. The curtain came down in style on the fifth and final day of the LFW with showings by Kallol Datta and Pankaj & Nidhi and B-Town glamour courtesy Lakme brand ambassador Kareena Kapoor. The creations from both labels were inspired by sponsor Lakme's latest Absolute Monochrome makeup line, a a collection of edgy, glam products that take up on the current colour-blocking trend, created in association with makeup expert Clint Fernandes.

When SONIA GOT ANGRY!

In an unprecedented scene in the Lok Sabha, an angry Sonia Gandhi goaded Congress MPs to shout slogans after BJP leader LK Advani took a jibe at the UPA-II and accused the government of indulging in horsetrading to win votes in the House. Soon after, Congress leaders broke into an uproar in the house, protesting against Adavni's statement even as Sonia was seen making animated gestures and intervening nine times. Sonia was seen instructing partymen and objecting to Advani's statement herself. Advani withdrew the word "illegitmiate" from his speech after Lok Speaker Meira Kumar instructed him to do so.

Rediff's Harish Kotian, interviewed Olympic silver medalist Vijay Kumar in London.Vijay said, he had prepared himself mentally for a medal and is elated to have achieved his objective.
 "I had mentally prepared myself for this moment. Being in the army has made me mentally tough and I used this to my advantage. Whatever I had planned, I have achieved," said Vijay, said at the post-event media interaction.
