Markets across Kashmir were jam-packed on Saturday ahead of Eidul-Fitr celebrations

Markets across Kashmir witnessed brisk shopping on Saturday on the eve of the Eidul-Fitr which marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramzan.

The markets were thronged by thousands of people since early morning and remained filled with shoppers till late evening.

Shops selling eatables and Eid sweets had a field day

Shops selling eatables like mutton, poultry, and bakery had a field day as shoppers jostled for purchases of these commodities.

Lal Chowk, the city centre and the main business centre of capital Srinagar, wore a festive look as enthusiastic shoppers jammed the area.

Heavy rush seen at a market in Srinagar on Saturday ahead of Eidul-Fitr celebrations

Traffic had a tough time to move even as the authorities had banned entry of the passenger buses in the centre two days ahead of the festival.

Children who accompanied their parents had made a beeline at toys and apparel shops to make purchases.

Srinagar markets in full bloom ahead of Eidul-Fitr festivities

The Eidul-Fitr comes at the end of the fasting month of Ramzan during which the Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. 

The Muslims wake up early during the month to have their pre-dawn Sehri and break their fast only at sundown with dates.
