Manmohan not in demand these days

Last updated on: April 04, 2014 03:15 IST

Although Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi might be the Congress' enemy number one, in private, many Congressmen blame Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the party's current plight.

Congress leader from Kerala P C Chacko had openly voiced these concerns.

Despite the angst of his colleagues, the PM will address 15 meetings and rallies in the 2014 elections mainly in Punjab, Haryana and metro cities of Mumbai and Bangalore, which have substantial corporate presence.

However, there is an overwhelming demand for Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to address rallies. While Sonia is slated to attend as many 100 rallies, her son will address 160 rallies.

The prime minister, who has already addressed two rallies in Assam last week, will restrict himself to mainly north India.
