Lamp lit since 484 years creates record

A sacred lamp at a Vaishnavite monastery has put Jorhat district of Assam on the world map.

The lamp, which has been continuously burning since 484 years, has been officially recognised by the Asia Book of Records.

Speaking to media persons, an administrative official at the temple said that the authorities are now aiming to approach the Guinness World Records for the revered lamp.
