Most of United States is shivering under the worst winter the country has experienced in 20 years.

A strong polar blast has caused temperatures across the country to drop to zero or sub-zero levels.

Cities in mid-western United States are likely to experience colder days, and nights, than their counterparts in northern Alaska.

Heavy snowfall has crippled flight operations and brought life to a standstill in many parts of the US.

Relentless snowfall also closed schools and government offices, caused several deaths and left the region in the grip of bitter cold.
