Shatrughan Sinha's rather substantial ego took a knocking recently when a group of students didn't know who he was.

The kids were waiting outside Parliament House when Shatru stepped out. He smiled, but the students showed no recognition.

Embarrassment was quickly averted by a teacher who enthusiastically sought Sinha's autograph.

The students were then informed that the Lok Sabha MP from Patna was actor Sonakshi Sinha’s dad. The Proud Pa must have been happy by that association, but not to be recognized by the current generation must have been quite a downer.

After shepherding her pet project, the Food Bill, through Parliament, K V Thomas has undertaken another Sonia project.

The nation's food minister is busy writing a book on the Congress president.

Thomas feels it is his 'duty' to let people know the behind the scenes saga around the Food Bill -- how a benevolent Sonia fought all odds, from within and outside the Congress party and UPA, to ensure food for all.

Thomas hopes to finish his book in a couple of months, but his efforts to showcase Sonia as a concerned, motherly, figure for the poor, has set his ministerial colleague Jairam Ramesh thinking.

Sheh! Why didn't he think of this first and scored over Thomas? But it is never too late, Jairam. You can always write a book on Rahulbaba's supposed work on the land acquisition bill!

Narendra Modi’s formal coronation as the BJP's Pradhan Mantri-to-be is a certainty, but some BJP leaders are still struggling to switch sides.

Varun Gandhi had invited L K Advani to be the guest of honour at his rally in Fatehpur Sikri. Now that date clashes with Modi’s grand show at Rewari.

While holding two rallies of a political party in two different states is no big deal, Varun's supporters want to clear the air, lest a misunderstanding cost him dear in Modi's durbar.

Markandey Kajtu has an air of 'I-told-you-so' these days.

The former Supreme Court judge had cautioned his brother judges four years ago not to interfere 'too much' in issues that fall under the Executive’s domain.

Nobody, it appears, paid heed to Justice Katju.

Now that the government has brought in two bills that deal with the appointment of judges and the judiciary's conduct, Justice Katju has reportedly been heard telling people how he had predicted this four years ago.

For once, thankfully, the man isn't breathing fire.

Why Sushmaji is sulking

The tussle between Sushma Swaraj and Narendra Modi is unlikely to end soon.

BJP insiders claim that even if Sushmaji reluctantly accepts Narendrabhai's current supremacy, the next round of the battle will be witnessed during the distribution of Lok Sabha tickets.

Team Modi is keen to field Swaraj from the New Delhi constituency, against Ajay Maken, whom he doesn't like at all.

To do that, Swaraj will have to give up her safe seat, Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh. So confident was she of winning that Lok Sabha seat in the 2009 election, she didn't campaign much there at all.
