Opening photo: Former Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah seeks the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after the former was declared the national president of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Shah was largely credited for BJP’s stunning performance in Lok Sabha polls in the superlatively crucial Uttar Pradesh, where he worked as the party’s state in-charge.
