Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Sadhu Yadav was Friday released from the high-security Beur jail in Patna after spending a month in judicial custody in connection with a forgery case, an offshoot of the multi-crore rupee flood relief scam.

Yadav, the brother-in-law of Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, furnished a bail bond in the court of designated Vigilance Judge Munilal Paswan after the Patna High Court Thursday allowed his application for regular bail.

Justice Mridula Mishra had granted him bail after hearing his counsel Ganesh Prasad Singh and Bihar Vigilance Bureau's standing counsel Y V Giri.

Yadav had on December 4 surrendered before the vigilance judge following the directive of the Supreme Court as the Vigilance Bureau was allowed by the court to attach his property after he evaded arrest when a non-bailable warrant was issued against him.

The Vigilance Bureau had on September 5 registered a case under sections the Indian Penal Code related to forgery and cheating against Yadav, charging the MP with falsifying documents to prove that Rs 6 lakh in his bank account had come from the sale of a vehicle, which in fact was not his.
