Right-wing organisations are holding a five-day conference at Ramnathi, Goa -- headquarters of the Sanatan Sanstha -- from June 10 to 14 to draw up a timetable for the 'formation of a Hindu nation and protection of Hindutva and Hindu organisations'.
Sanatan Sanstha had hit headlines in October 2009 for its links with Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, after the death of two people in a scooter bomb blast at Margao on the eve of Diwali.
The conference at Ramnathi is being organised by its sister organisation, the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti.
According to the organisers, the conference will also draw up a programme for religious education for Hindus up to the village level.
"India was divided on religious grounds. Pakistan became an Islamic nation but India was declared a secular country despite the fact that Hindustan, as it was known, was a Hindu nation for centuries. How can India be secular despite Hindus constituting 85 per cent of its population," said Suresh Munjal, a Delhi-based lawyer and an organiser of the conference.
According to Munjal, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader K Govindacharya and other right-wing leaders will hold a press conference in Delhi on Thursday about the conference.
