We will bring Lokpal Bill in winter session: Khurshid

October 04, 2011 14:12 IST
As Anna Hazare threatened to campaign against Congress on the Lokpal issue, Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid on Tuesday said the government will bring the anti-corruption bill in Parliament's winter session.

Reacting to Hazare's plan to campaign against the Congress for the coming Assembly elections, Khurshid said he was not going to comment on anybody's views about what should happen in the next election.

"It is their decision. Every citizen is free to vote for anybody. The Congress will only do its work, perform its duties and the Congress will then go back to people when the duty is performed.

"Let the people judge. We have said that in the next session we are bringing not just this one bill (Lokpal) but many other bills as well," he said.

In Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashtra, Hazare on Tuesday put the Congress on notice on the Lokpal issue, saying he will campaign against it in election-bound states if the Centre fails to get his version of the anti-corruption bill passed in the Parliament's winter session.
