Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has assured Congressmen that the government is doing what it should to ensure the country's security.
Talking to some 80-plus Congressmen in a closed-door meeting at Jaipur on the sidelines of the party's Chintan Shivir, Dr Singh reportedly said that India should not be sentimental in diplomacy and use wisdom.
After listening patiently to agitated Congressmen, who expressed their concerns over Pakistan's repeated ceasefire violations along the Line of Control, the Prime Minister said that in diplomacy what has to be done should not be talked about and what all has been spoken is not possibly done.
According to a participant who was the part of the meeting, Dr Singh convinced his partymen that he is aware of people's sensitivity and assured them that all that should be done was being done.
Anand Sharma, who led the group, also assured the Congressmen that India is well-aware of changing realities in region and elsewhere.
He curtly told them that Pakistan is not a big enough entity that India should be bothered about, particularly, when it is facing so many difficulties on home ground.
