US envoy meets Mathai, to share navy ship firing report

United States Ambassador Nancy Powell on Thursday met Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai and assured him US will share with India [ Images ] its inquiry report in the US navy ship firing incident in which one Indian fisherman was killed in Dubai [ Images ].

Powell also reiterated the US commitment that a full probe would be conducted into the matter, official sources said.

"It was a pre-scheduled meeting to discuss bilateral issues. During the meeting, the foreign secretary asked about the US inquiry into its Navy ship firing in which an Indian fisherman was killed and three others were wounded," sources said.
