Two Naxalites, including a hardcore activist involved in the killing of a top police officer, were arrested alongwith 100 detonators at Dudi village in Naxal-hit Khunti district of Jharkhand on Wednesday.

The ultras, identified as Chaitan Munda alias Langra and Budhram Lohra were arrested last night. Besides 100 detonators, a pistol and four rounds of cartridge were also found during the raid.

Langra, a hardcore Naxalite, was wanted by the police in several cases including the killing of deputy superintendent of police, Bundu, Pramod Kumar About three years back and a Rs. 5 crore bank heist, current DSP A K Rai said.

Meanwhile, in a related development, suspected Naxalites set on fire three dumpers of a road construction firm and the motorcycle of an employee at Panchan Bazar in Naxal-affected Gaya district late on Wednesday night.

Police sources said the armed ultras came to the spot, set ablaze the dumpers and motor cycle and snatched eight mobile sets before leaving the spot.

Sources suspected the Naxalites carried on the attack after the firm failed to pay levy demanded by the ultras.
