2 Hizbul militants shot dead in encounter

Security forces shot dead two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists, including a self styled divisional commander of the outfit, in an encounter in Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said Srinagar.  

"The police and CRPF  eliminated two terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen in an encounter in Mahore area of the district," a police spokesman said. He said police and 126 Battalion of CRPF had launched a joint operation

on specific information in Mahore.
The militants were asked to surrender but they opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated, triggering the encounter. "Two Hizbul Mujahiden terrorists identified as Mustaq Ahmad alias Irfan and Shabir Ahmad alias Hamza were killed in this encounter. Mushtaq alias Irfan was active since 1999 and was functioning as a divisional commander of the outfit," the spokesman added.
