A crude bomb kept in a bag exploded near the Dum Dum cantonment in Kolkata on Saturday, leaving two children injured.

A bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot as there were two more bombs inside the bag found at the cantonment's railway gate number 2.

Ragpickers Safiq and Saharukh were playing when they found the abandoned bag. As they unzipped the bag and found a tiffin box inside, they tried to open it but it exploded, injuring the duo, Superintendent of Railway Police Debashis Baig said.

The two injured children have been rushed to the R G Kar Medical College Hospital in Kolkata.

A bomb squad has also rushed to the spot as there are two more bombs inside the bag, the SRP said.

There was no impact on train movement, railway sources said.
