The police further said that the deceased was a Trinamool Congress supporter, while the four injured victims were CPI-M supporters.

The collision began today morning in three villages under Khanakul, Arambagh and Purshura police stations. The police added that guns, bows and arrows and other improvised firearms were used during the fight.

Four villagers, known to be CPI-M supporters, were also shot and injured at Majhpur.
