A cow in India holds the Guinness record for being the shortest in the world.

The six-year-old cow, known as Manikyam, was reared by an Indian farmer and environmentalist called NV Balakrishnan in Atholi, Kerala and stands at just 61.5cm tall, the Mirror reported.

The cow, who smashed the previous record of 69.07cm, was bed and bred just like any other cow, but never grew higher than two feet.

In a video, NV Balakrishnan reveals that he got the cow 5 years ago, and had felt her uniqueness immediately and hence reared her with special care.

He added that the cow was very intelligent and like a family member to them, and was with them with all times.
