Coming down heavily on Union Minister Shashi Tharoor for his "cattle-class" remarks, BJP today said his political probation has been a complete fiasco.
"Shashi Tharoor has been let off, he has been pardoned. But the political probation of Shashi Tharoor has been a complete fiasco. Even somebody in the private sector would
have been sacked for such demeanours....But for the Congress it does not matter how the common people feel," BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.
Tharoor, who met Sonia Gandhi yesterday, was asked to be more cautious in future. The former UN official had drawn the ire of his party and others for his remarks calling those who travel economy as "cattle class".
The opposition also attacked Home Minister P Chidambaram.
"Chidambaram has asked Delhi citizens to behave to change their mindset, learn to behave. Why is the Congress after the middle class," Rudy said.
At a time when the common man is plagued by rising prices, the Congress is busy attacking its conduct, he added.
