Thai prime minister arrives on a day's visit

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra arrived in New Delhi on a day-long visit on Friday.

During the Thai prime minister's stay in India, the two countries are expected to sign an educational exchange programme agreement, besides exploring ways of enhancing cooperation in other fields.

Shinawatra was received by Minister of State for External

Affairs E Ahamed at the Indira Gandhi Airport in New Delhi.

He will hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on a host of bilateral, regional and international issues of
mutual interest.

Human Resources Development Minister Arjun Singh will also call on the visiting prime minister and the two sides are expected to sign an educational exchange programme.
