Techie murdered in US buried in Hyderabad

The 24-year-old techie from Hyderabad, Arpana Jinaga, who was found murdered at her house in the United States a few days ago, was buried in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Arpana was buried at the Whisper Valley in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad family sources told PTI.

Her body was flown into the city in the wee hours of Sunday and was received by her family at the airport.

Arpana, the elder daughter of Basavraj Jinaga, a professor at city-based Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. had completed her B Tech from Hyderabad and had done her Masters in Embedded Systems from a University in New Jersey.

She was a topper in studies and had made her mark in chip designing.

Arpana, who wanted to complete her doctorate and become a professor, was working as a software engineer with EMC Corporation at Seattle since 2007.

Meanwhile, family members were assured of thorough investigations into Arpana's murder, by the US authorities.

"We have been assured by the US authorities that those responsible for Arpana's murder will be caught and brought to book," a family member said.

Several family friends and relatives offered their heart-felt condolences to Arpana.
