At least 350 people have died after a tropical storm triggered landslides and flash floods in the eastern Philippines, still reeling from last week's typhoon, report agencies.

Reports from Quezon province, 65 km east of the capital, Manila, said 316 people were killed and 150 missing in the region, where rescue and relief work was affected by bad weather and submerged roads. The Office of Civil Defence reported deaths

in other provinces near the capital.

The towns of Baler and Dingalan, which were among the worst hit in the previous storm, were again submerged and people were camping on rooftops, said local officials reached by radio stations.

Last week's typhoon had left at least 90 dead and scores missing.

The region is hit by at least 20 storms and typhoons each year, and weather forecasts predict another typhoon sometime early next week.
