Jagan was evicted from his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad

YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad, where he was admitted following a five-day fast in support of united Andhra Pradesh.

Police had on Wednesday night evicted Reddy from the venue of his indefinite hunger strike called to protest the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh as doctors voiced concern over his deteriorating health.

Jagan is now admitted to the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment

A team of policemen swooped down on Jagan's house at Lotus Pond in Jubilee Hill area on Wednesday night and bodily lifted him before putting him into an ambulance and taking him straight to the state-run Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences.

YSR Congress leaders said Jagan is likely to remain in the hospital for the day as his condition has deteriorated due to the fast.

The Kadapa Member of Parliament began his indefinite fast on October 5 in support of united Andhra Pradesh. Doctors advised him on Wednesday to call it off as his blood sugar levels and other parameters were worrying.

Doctors examine Jagan at the venue of the hunger strike on Wednesday

His family members and YSRCP leaders have visited him in the hospital.

Though Jagan wanted to continue his fast even after being admitted to the hospital, he was treated by the doctors in view of his health condition.

Jagan had held a similar fast while in jail in Hyderabad in September over the Telangana issue.
