The Gujarat Congress staged a mock assembly session at the Town Hall in Ahmedabad on Monday to protest against the Speaker not allowing a debate in the assembly on the hooch tragedy, in which more than 150 people died..
Wearing masks of Speaker Ashok Bhatt, Chief Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders, a mock assembly session was played out to a packed audience.
The Congress has been organising these mock assembly sessions in all district headquarters in the state. Congress MLAs have also met and made representations to the President, Lok Sabha Speaker and the state governor over the law and order situation in Gujarat.
