Since the dawn of man, the stars above us have inspired endless wonder and intrigue. Here’s a collection of 12 photographs of the sky pre-selected for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2014 award.
The competition which is run by the Royal Observatory in Greenwich features an amazing selection of images from the night sky.
