Former Cricketer and Bharatiya Janata Party member from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu would be missing from a number of television programmes and advertisements following the verdict of the Punjab and Haryana high court. The court convicted Sidhu of culpable homicide on Friday.

According to a rough estimates Sidhu, who was riding high on Sidhuisms over the years would suffer huge financial losses. "I should say that his losses would be around Rs five crore a year," said a top cricket writer who have been following the fortunes of Sidhu as member of parliament
closely.

Sidhu is the only MP to appear in a number of advertisements and programmes.

His contract with NDTV alone gets him around Rs 1 crore per year according to insiders of the organisation. Likewise he gets almost the same amount for promoting Luminous inverters as well as the State Bank of Patiala.

Lately Sidhu had started advertising for a optical firm as well. His programme on NDTV is a hit with the viewers.

Sidhu and Shekhar Suman can take the credit for popularising a Star One programme Laughter Challenge by appearing as judges.
