The war between the two factions in the Bharatiya Janata Party's Karnataka unit continues, with pressure being mounted on newly-appointed Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda.
Gowda, who held his first review meeting on Friday, now faces the challenges posed to him by the faction led by BJP leader Jagadish Shettar.
Shettar was Gowda's rival for the CM's post.
Shettar and his supporters have made the following demands: Posts of deputy chief minister, home and revenue ministeries. They have also demanded 17 ministerial berths and 50 per cent of the posts of chairpersons of boards and corporations.
BJP leader and Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy made it clear at Bengaluru on Friday that he would follow the orders of Shettar.
He said Shettar and K S Eshwarappa are the leaders and he will take orders only from them.
The faction led by former CM B S Yeddyurappa is trying to figure out a way to accommodate the Shettar faction, which has also sought the intervention of party leaders.
