Second Pak ceasefire violation in 2 days

In yet another ceasefire violation and the second in two days, Pakistani troops fired along the Indo-Pak border in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, injuring an Army jawan.

There was suspected movement along the Line of Control (LOC) in forward belt of Keri area in Rajouri sector and a Patrol party was launched in the area immediately on Tuesday, a senior Army official said.

During patrolling, an Army jawan was injured when troops fired from Pakistan, he said, adding that BSF troops fired back, resulting in exchanges for a brief period.

The injured was hospitalised, he said, adding, the suspected terrorists escaped.

"It is a clear case of ceasefire violation. We have lodged a protest with Pak authorities today," he said.

Pakistani troops on Independence Day violated ceasefire by firing on the Indian post along the Indo-Pak Border in Samba district.

Pakistani troops from Imran post fired on Ballard forward post along the International Border in Ramgarh sub-sector of the district around 3.45 am on August 15.
