Sahil Zaroo, held in a shahtoosh shawl theft case, was on Tuesday granted bail by a Mumbai court.

Metropolitan Magistrate M H Belose granted him cash bail of Rs 25,000.

Zaroo has also been asked by the court to report to investigation officers once a week after the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances case probe (where Sahil is booked along with Rahul Mahajan) in Delhi is over.

Meanwhile, Forest Department officials moved another court seeking Sahil's custody in the shahtoosh theft under Wildlife Act.

Police had booked Sahil under IPC, but now the forest department wants 15 days custody for the offence under Wildlife Protection Act, according to a remand application filed by the assistant conservator of forests in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Now the remand application filed by Forest Department will come up before metropolitan magistrate.

Police registered a case against Sahil and two others after he reportedly fled with shahtoosh shawls from his father's shop at a five-star hotel in south Mumbai during a raid in March 2006.

He has denied the charge saying he was not present in the shop when the raid was conducted.

In the first information report registered by police, Sahil is charged with section 353 IPC (obstructing public servants from performing duty) and section 380 IPC (theft).
