The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh held demonstrations in several parts of the country accusing the Congress of hatching a "political conspiracy" to malign its image and "falsely" implicating its senior leader Indresh Kumar in the Ajmer blast case.

RSS activists along with members of other Sangh Parivar outfits staged sit-in at various places and handed over a memorandum to concerned district collectors, RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav said. "Mainly, our protest has been against politicisation of the probe into the bomb blast cases. We are not against the probe per say but what we are witnessing is not an investigation but a political witch hunt," he said. He said this was evident with the All India Congress Committee (AICC) passing a resolution accusing the RSS of sponsoring terrorism in the country.

Senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar, who is accused of being part of the conspiracy behind the bomb blast at the Sufi shrine in Ajmer in 2007, dubbed the entire episode as a"political conspiracy". "Some Congress politicians are behind this. The probe is being carried out by an agency, the credibility of which is also in question. These are all fabricated charges", the RSS leader said in New Delhi.

In Pune, hundreds of RSS volunteers raised slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' during the two-hour long protest and handed over a memorandum to the collector. Senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders lashed out at the government for "targeting" the RSS in connection with the Ajmer blast case. "The Home Minister wants to influence the court cases by making statements like saffron terror," VHP international general secretary Pravin Togadia said.

In Bhopal, former RSS chief K S Sudarshan targeted Congress president Sonia Gandhi. In Bengaluru, RSS staged a sit-in dharna in front of the townhall, flaying the Congress for likening RSS with "saffron terror and Hindu terror". RSS leaders later submitted a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Governor H R Bhardwaj.
