Ahead of Bharatiya Janata Party's "Chintan baithak" in Shimla from Wednesday, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha on Tuesday gave clear signals to the party that it should think in terms of younger leadership and ending factionalism.

"BJP has to decide about it. This is not a question of what we think they have to manage. This is a universal truth that young generation must replace, but when and where they have to decide,' RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat told Times Now.

The Sangh parivar head said it was for the BJP to judge whether transition can wait till the next generation.

"Yes, they would need to transit to younger generation. When, how and where is their privilege." Bhagwat said.

His comments were immediately welcomed by senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi who said the RSS chief always has a right to advice BJP and most of us are from the RSS. So his advice is taken seriously.

Another leader M Venkaiah Naidu said that the party always brings younger leaders to the fore and does not believe in dynasty.

Bhagwat said that he had been advocating younger leadership in BJP since 2003. Whenever asked on the subject, he had told the leaders that they have sufficient young leaders who should be brought forward.

"An average age group must be maintained." Asked what should be the average age, he said that it could be 55-60, but not more than 60.
