The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice on Tuesday as agitated Telugu Desam Party members demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into alleged corruption in irrigation projects in Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile vociferous Congress members sought tabling of U C Baneerjee Commission's report on the Godhra train blaze.
As soon as the House met, TDP members demanded suspension of Question Hour to take up a discussion on alleged corruption in irrigation projects in Andhra Pradesh. Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat said the matter could be taken up after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement on civil nuclear energy cooperation with the US.
The unrelenting TDP members rushed to the well demanding discussion on the matter and a CBI probe.
Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress members also moved to the well on the Godhra issue. Sensing the mood, Shekhawat adjourned the House till 1130 hrs.
When the House re-assembled, similar scenes prevailed and Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan adjourned it till noon.
