In the wake of the Central Bureau of Investigation unearthing an alleged recruitment scam in the NDA and arresting six persons including a serving colonel, the Academy said it had not received any complaints regarding abnormality in recruitment process.

While NDA was in the process of investigating the chain of events which led to the detention of its officer (Col Kulbir Singh), "this office has not received any complaint from any source regarding any abnormality in the recruitment process", a statement issued by the Academy said.

"The office of the NDA is yet to receive any official communication from the CBI regarding the full details of the case. The CBI officials had forwarded a request for scrutinising certain documents of the officer. This office has been extending its full cooperation and has handed over the documents," the statement added.

"It is also understood that approximately Rs 92.8 lakh have been recovered by the CBI from some civilians residing outside the NDA premises," it noted.

The CBI had registered a case against six accused including Col Kulbir Singh, staff officer to NDA commandant Lt Gen Jatinder Singh, for allegedly taking bribe for recruitment of subordinate staff in the academy, located at Khadakwasla near Pune.

The probing agency said a total cash of Rs 1.76 crore had been recovered from the accused during searches carried out in Mumbai, Pune, Gurgaon and Sonepat. All the accused were remanded to CBI custody till July 2.

The accused persons had allegedly taken signatures of those candidates, who had agreed to pay the bribe, on blank sheets and later filled them with correct answers through fraudulent means, he said.

The CBI also claimed to have seized a list of candidates' names and interview letters and a list of those who had paid bribe from residences of two of the accused.

In February, the NDA had invited applications to appoint 40 subordinate staff.
