READ: The Telangana Bill that was passed by Lok Sabha

The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill, 2014, better known as the Telangana Bill, was passed in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday amid uproar and a raging controversy as the televised screening of the House proceedings were suspended.

The bill is now being debated in the Rajya Sabha amid unruly scenes and consistent protests from those opposed to Telangana formation. When passed in the Upper House, the bill would go to President Pranab Mukherjee for assent, following which a notification will be issued.
