Two suspects allegedly involved in the molestation and abduction of a German girl surrendered before a local court in Chandigarh on Wednesday.

The duo -- Sukhi and Manjeet Singh alias Jolly -- surrendered before Chief Judicial Magistrate Kanchan Mahi.

Police had on Tuesday arrested a youth, Harpreet Singh alias Dalli, from Ambala who is suspected to have played a key role in the incident on Saturday night.

During his interrogation, Dalli had told the police about three other suspects -- Sukhi, Sompal and Jolly. Sompal is still at large.

Police teams are raiding several places in Haryana and elsewhere to arrest him.

"We are very close to Sompal and he can be taken into custody anytime," a police official said in Chandigarh.

Another suspect Pankaj Punia was arrested on Monday from Ambala.

Police has impounded two vehicles used by them in the alleged abduction of the 20-year-old girl.

The victim, who along with her father, is in Delhi presently was allegedly abducted by the five youths on Saturday night from the parking of a five star hotel in the city.

Punia had already been sent to police remand by the CJM court till October three.

The victim had come to Chandigarh on September 23 to attend the marriage of her German friend with a city-based boy.

The trio had gone to hotel Taj in the city and as the victim came out to smoke, the youths abducted her in their jeep and 'tried to rape her', police said.

However, the report of the city-based Central Forensic Science Laboratory of chemical examination of the victim's vaginal swab is still awaited.
