Rajasthan Chief Minister Vaundhara Raje -- who is expected to meet Gujjar leader Karori Singh Bainsla later today -- will reach an agreement over the community's demand for Scheduled Tribe status, according to Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar.

"We have reached an agreement with Bainsla," Javadekar had told rediff.com on the phone from Jaipur in the morning.

Ram Das Aggarwal of the BJP, who has played a significant role in the talks -- particularly in bringing Bainsla to the negotiation table -- is also hopeful of a positive outcome.

BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member S S Ahluwalia is confident that the proceedings are on the right track and they will take a day or two to conclude.

Raje is keeping party president Rajnath Singh updated about the latest developments in the negotiations. "We shall inform you about of the details the moment an agreement is reached between the two parties," Javadekar said.

Sachin Pilot, Member of Parliament and Gujjar leader from Dausa, could not be reached for comment. Pilot had supported the agitation from the very beginning.
