June 24, 2011 19:17 IST

The situation in the temple town of Puttaparthi is expected to be tense with a huge protest march being planned against the alleged irregularities in the Shri Sathya Sai Central trust.

Locals, shopkeepers and establishment owners and some builders will take out a march at 11 am on Saturday. They are demanding that the trust be cleaned up and all allegations of corruption be stopped immediately. The protestors are also demanding that a proper inquiry be conducted against all allegations against the trust.

The march comes in the backdrop of the police issuing notices to two trustees. Following the arrest of three persons who were allegedly carrying Rs 35.5 lakh out the ashram the police had issued notices to the trustees to appear for interrogation. The interrogation is most likely to be conducted on either Saturday or Monday at Puttaparthi by senior police officers from Ananthpur district.
