An amalgam of various religious organisations has called for a shutdown on Tuesday to protest against the anti-Islam film made by an American filmmaker.
Hard-line separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani and the pro-independence Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front have lent their support to the strike call.
The conglomerate -- Jammu and Kashmir Muttahida Ullemai Ahli Sunnat -- has also called on the Muslim community to boycott goods made in America.
The Valley has been witnessing daily protests since Friday, after Geelani called for protests against the film after Friday prayers.
The MUAS, in a statement, said that it "will approach the embassies of various Muslim countries in New Delhi and take their governments into confidence on the issue of boycott of American goods".
The conglomerate said it "will also contact the Organisation of Islamic Conference to enforce the boycott".
Traders in Kashmir have also called for a shutdown on Tuesday against the film.
Students in south Kashmir's Pulwama and Shopian districts on Monday staged anti-US protests. The students of Islamic University blocked the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway and shouted slogans against America.
