The Narendra Modi versus Arvind Kejriwal contest in Varanasi can wait.

Amritsar, another holy town, is witnessing an intense battle of supremacy between Arun Jaitley and Captain Amarinder Singh.

Jaitley's campaign diary is aimed at tying the former maharaja of Patiala up in knots.

But the former Indian Army captain has a public relations company, Communicators India, which issues crisp and structured press statements every day.

Amarinder has also lined up a range of Sikh religious leaders opposed to the Akalis.

But the former Congress MP from Amritsar, R L Bhatia, is missing from the scene.

Similarly, the Jaitley camp is also without Navjot Singh Sidhu, the sitting BJP MP.

For some reason, the ex-cricketer and television funny man was seen campaigning for the BJP in Nagpur, parts of Bihar etc, but missing from Amritsar.
